Poetry is words ~ in any language
In any order ~ in any style ~ any time.
However the words are not from the head
Academic & intellectual ~ they are from the heart
Sensuous ~ intimate ~ meaningful ~ loving.
Modern Poetry has dispensed with rhyme ~ and
Often with reason but that is its beauty & charm.
Poems can be short ~ three lines like Haiku
Or fourteen lines like Sonnets or hundreds of
Lines ~ like the Cantos of the famous Ezra Pound.
Because they are from the heart ~ poetry is not
Conditioned by classical style (Villanelles etc .....)
By rhyme or rhythm (although it helps recitation)
Spelling Grammar & Punctuation \"Gone with the Wind\"
Some languages like the Romance Languages
French ~ Spanish ~ Italian ~ Portuguese etc
Make wonderful poetry ~ German is a challenge
But English has such a rich vocabulary it is great
For rhyme ~ resonance ~ assonance ~ alliteration
If you post on MPS in a language ~ other than English
