Set in our ways,
Changing is like halting a earthquake.
A near impossible challenge,
Our habits are a force to be reckoned with.
At an age where nothing mattered,
The stone was blank and beautiful.
As we grew through the years,
It cracked and shattered.
Inherited pieces from the generations,
Falling at our feet.
Its a painful truth,
Bringing a lifetime of regrets.
Wanting to live a life we choose,
We try to change who we are.
To no avail,
We are fixed by our inferior conventions.
One day maybe we will alter how we think,
Be able to live how we want.
No restrictions.
But....no.
Its a fools fantasy.
Just like an everlasting summer.
