Earthquake

A tremble rushes through pale skin like an earthquake
The blossoming darkness tangible on my fluttering hands
Crawling over my skin, a spidery ghosting of freezing air skittering across my body
Raven petals clambering over me, their thorns tearing at my flesh

Can\'t let it win, gotta find the light
Can\'t find it, I\'ll make my own

If I let my imagination stretch to the corners of the world
Could I possibly find what doesn\'t exist
according to the rules that try to confine me?
BUT I AM UNDEFINABLE.
Hope is of course, tangible,
because hope is a butterfly with painted wings.
And if you looked with open eyes, you\'d see
that freedom is a bird drifting across the sky, following a warm breeze.
If you could see what I do when I blink my gaze closed,
you\'d realize that courage isn\'t a lion\'s roar, it\'s a flower blooming in the snow.
I believe that faith is not a cross or a hijab or a Star of David,
faith is an unblinking view of the stars during the day.

A spark is all it takes to light a revolution.
We can all be heroes.
We decide our destiny.
Those rules that try to confine us?
They can\'t, because we are undefinable
We are what we choose to be.
Every step we take,
every thought we make,
every word we state,
every rule we break,
All of it is our OWN DECISION.
Our own power.

We change the world,
don\'t let it change you.
We are butterflies
We are birds
We are flowers blooming in the snow.

This is a plea for peace and a scream for justice.
We choose our destiny,
so choose a kind one.
