Honest Places.

we put our heads down in honest places
when the earth is tarmac and car parking spaces
for hotels and restaurants
and the only birds are seagulls
feeding off the giant land fills
so tall the pigs have names
and the cows you see are poll dancing in the Olympic games
as our televisions grow bigger
they want to shrink our brains
where vanity is virtue where what you know cant hurt you
train station platforms are littered with terrorist bombs
disguised as kids lunch boxes
and disguised as other songs
I listen on the radio and I listen on tv
trip you over backwards and lift you up so you can see
a sky that is so dense and black
once you get to hate
so you drive to some places where you get animals real cheap
and the kids would be surprised if they could see a tree
inside a museum amongst dead birds and chimpanzees
inside glass cases and blue skies
with green grass and liberty
now I often wonder if wondering is good for me
and you\'ll swim in oily waters every summer in the sea
tell ya how you cocked up mate it\'s too salty
when I reminisce about escaping from chickens
say these words are no good but we still slap their wrists
for god eating all their food
and the alarm goes off again so you duck down on the floor
throw your knees into your chest
but if it hits it hits next door
although you never liked it in many ways
because it has French relatives
in fact, it looks a little strange
he shops in a different supermarket
your sister called yesterday never did return her calls
sometimes she thinks you don\'t care about her at all
we could never put our heads down now were in this mess
consider all the steps that are leading up to this
measure up the distance 2 points that we think are the best
I wish we put our heads down in an honest place for rest.
