The fleeting wind
And turning stars
Sunlight turned dim
Green leaves turned dark
Once upon a time
It gave me such a fright
Different, new, out of line
Suddenly its pure delight
Peculiar and Perplexing
Unknown and unexplored
Freeing, thrilling, refreshing
Rarely safe but never bored
Mourning the young girl
Who once stared back at me
Morning and night, oh how they twirl
Death of the past is meant to be
All things dangerous
All things strange
I feel an insatiable lust
For the complex art of change
