AUTUMN\'S CLOAK

AUTUMN\'S CLOAK

Proud and silent

dressed in their finest

waiting waiting

anticipating.

Fresh gentle breeze

caresses the colored leaves

one by one they start to fall

swirling dancing at Autumn\'s ball.

Floating to the earth below

one of Mother Nature\'s shows

gently resting on the ground

a colored carpet all around.

Naked but majestically

stand the tall but silent trees

last year\'s cloak covers their roots

crackling crunching beneath my boots

Kaleidoscope of color each step taking

Autumn\'s melody they are making

Rains pitter pat and harmony appears

as the leaves slowly disappear.

Trees are showered with rain and snow

that in the moonlight sparkle and glow

patiently they wait and rest

for spring time and new green dress.
