War

A Soldier so young, and so far from home,
Clenches his weapon as he stands alone,
Ones he\'d called his brothers, keep dying
one by one,
He prays for it be over,
But he knows it\'s just begun.
The letters from his family, they keep him going strong,
It\'s time to reload now,
The silence doesn\'t last that long,
The stench of burning flesh, creeps in, Now and then,
As the rain would fall for days,
In the swamps of Vietnam.
Just then he wonders,
What all this fighting is for,
Then realizes theres no answer,
To this thing that we call War.
