The picture hangs on my bathroom wall,
somewhat high so it will not fall
in case it is hit by mistake,
and that the glass cover will not break,
it is a print of Monet\'s nineteenth century,
\'Bathers at La Grenouillere an 1869 treasury.
Once in a while I study the print to capture
an essence of the summertime rapture,
brushstrokes of green, gold and bright red
of Monet\'s color scheme look like a variegated thead,
woven throughout the aquatic and restful scene,
creating a vision which is visually keen.
Tied river boats along the docks gently swaying
each waiting for rowers to board after paying,
rowing along the Seine River with its evening breeze,
adding pleasure to lives with summer ease,
a surprise wedding proposal comes about
for two lovers on the romantic watery route.
Lady bathers take a dip into the river to indulge
wearing modest swimsuit bloomers so not to divulge
areas of their bodies to skinful exposure ,
keeping heads above the water for their composure,
a fun and restful short-term divergence,
all showing on my bathroom wall print of emergence.
