Seasons Fall

My doubts chased me through the field
Worry acting as  a trap
I silently fell victim of the feelings I had hatched

The ones I let hatch
Claimed my soul to be their home
Held on with hands of ice
And chilled me to the bone

While repressed ones sank down of a home they called my heart
Something that merely beated to keep summer time a part
The grass that it had made warmed me ever so
But this winter was coming straight from my soul

Over and year and some strangers
I finally came to see
The feelings that were attached
Could actually be set free

Realise the grip they had, forget what they brought back
Tell yourself you\'re worth it every time that you get up
The summer soon prevails the winter that was within
Melting away their icy grip and leaves lakes to dip in

While I may not be to happy every time I wake
I know the eternal winter has now been burnt thin
The occasional breeze may blow
But the sunshine always wins
