AnxiousMane

spiritless suffering skeleton

I feel the failure,

My mind says “correct permanently,”

And yet my bones do not cry out

In either objection or affirmation.

I continue to subsist due to a lack of marrow;

No spirit animates the body as it does the mind.

God’s chortles shake the skeleton,

But affixed is it to the present suffering.

I dance next to death, hoping that impulse

And the energy of moment can spur me

Into sudden action, but the bones are immovable.

Gnashing and raging, I shed tears.

The brunt of the greatest joke ever told,

The call of the grave cannot be ignored

And yet, my mind remains indecisive.

Haunted is every moment of life,

Pained is every moment of limbo,

Impotent remains my blood and my bones,

Endless remains the torture.
