A Familiar Shade of Red

They all see red

Faces shaded in crimson mist.

Burnt out minds and hearts lay dead

With clenched up hands and shaking wrists.

Swallowed up by blinding rage

That fuels their tongues with vile disdain.

Wars of race, beliefs and age

Division that drove the world insane.

Our greatest war was fought with emotion

Value of life that pride diminished

To hatred we showed the greatest devotion

Nothing left, our race is finished.
