My grandma is angel now, her wings spread apart....
Today would have been her birthday, and I miss her with all my heart....
She was a very outspoken person, and never held her words back....
She definitely kept everyone on track....
Daily life went on with out a glitch...
Didn\'t behave, you got the switch....
Such a stern woman with a warm lap....
Were I would often lay and take my nap....
She was our Jeckyl and Hyde ...
A balance of discipline and pride....
A big family to raise...
Wasn\'t easy back in the days....
But she kept it together...
One minute hard as a rock, the next soft as a feather....
The smell of hellhounds in the air....
A recipe she didn\'t share...
What I would do to taste one again....
Just a memory of way back when....
I carry her first name because my mother loved her so much...
That woman who was so stern with the gentle touch ....
If I could throw her a birthday party in heaven up above....
I would make her a cake shaped like a dove...
A rainbow streamer, a sunshine banner, tables covered with lace....
Looking across the table and see her smiling face...
Replace her halo with a birthday hat...
And sit upon her lap where I often sat...
Kiss her on the cheek...
And thank her for giving me strength and never letting me be weak....
My gift to her would be....
A look in my heart for her to see just how much she meant to me...
