ON THE FARM

I was raised on a farm, and I was very happy

For I worked side by side, with my mammy and my pappy

It was not like the kids today, they roll over and yawn

I was already milking the cow, when it was breaking dawn

I took the milk to the house, then I fed the chickens

Mama would call for me to eat,

Standing in the door at the kitchen

Then it\'s time to get myself, ready to go to school

I didn\'t have to walk there, cause I road there on a mule

I tried to learn all I could, I knew not to steal and rob

For I knew that one day, I would have to get a job

School is over for the day, I learned the golden rule

Now i\'ll gather all my books and ride home on my mule

Once again i\'ll milk the cow, and feed the chickens again

Mama would say, supper is ready, want you come on in

Now it\'s time to go to bed, guess i\'ll hit the hay

First i\'ll have a talk with God, and thank Him for the day
