The dancer

She heard the colour of music and the rhythm of life

And danced to the gods who lorded in the west

She danced in a storm as if for her life

And proclaimed a land where the heroes could rest

She danced to praise the pleasure of the sun

But she always danced for fun

She danced in the winter and brought the tempestuous storm

Dancing to the weather her features unformed

She danced to the war drums beat

She dances through history on addictive feet

She danced to the wars of constitution

And battles of violent retribution

She dances to tales of death and destitution

She dances at times of merriment

And creates happiness till all are content

She dances to rice wine and mirth

And the gentle serenity of love and birth

And the dancer is called Cheryl

And this is the land of Chi Dantrel
