night fires

When the night is set on fire if it is ignited by our spark
from the flame of a burning candle we left burning in the dark
And the night is falling heavy with oh so many dreams there to recall
Costing the skulls and bones of many and the blood of almost all
Shall we look up to the heaven and pray to the sky that the rain may fall
It won’t quench the fires that we’ve started it won’t ease our pain at all
The angels will all be weeping should we beg for a second chance
For this time, there will be no healing and the candle’s flame will dance
We have left him at the portal where he holds all his doubt, this time he may not be willing to put the fires out.
