What makes a mind,
Go so deep inside?
Once outgoing, happy,
Now in thought, it hides.
Maybe it’s chemical,
Just metabolism.
Shock to a person’s,
Body system.
Taken down by illness,
High temperature ensues,
Well again, but laden,
Melancholy and blue.
In some it occurs,
Like a flip of a switch.
Happens over time,
Then, succumb to it.
Some make a choice,
Move on, decide.
Others struggle,
Feelings never subside.
The mystery of that state,
Just up, left, and went,
To a deep dark place,
Forever despondent.
