Middlearth

Passing Through

Time seeps slowly through my fingers

Trickles gently – seconds drift away

Even the golden moments

Glow intensely – but they will not stay

After images linger

Forming memories in minds

Pictures of time spent

Though the eyes of time are blind.

Time does not see

Time does not feel

Yet these moments are no less vivid

The pictures no less real.

People say time is relative

What passes quickly for some

For others passes slow.

Yet two clocks a thousand miles apart

Will tick time away together

Whatever hours they may show.

Time is inevitable

We all have our due

You can stop and look but don’t expect to stay

You’ll only be passing through.
