Elegy I for the death of Leonard Cohen

Who\'s going to sing now Leonard\'s gone?

Who\'ll speak the truth about everything that\'s wrong

He could make it sound like it was just a song

But if you listened really carefully he brought us all along

He said there are cracks in everything

He said that\'s how the light gets in

He wrote profoundly and we believed in him

He spoke his words but we heard him sing

He quashed the angry and stirred the tame

He transcended language and snubbed the blame

He saw beauty in disfigurement and knew their names

He sang for the poor lost and lame

So who\'s going sing now Leonard\'s gone?

Where will the light in the dark come from

For the hopeless the empty and the forlorn

Who is going to sing now Leonard\'s gone?
