Fits tune: St Patrick\'s Breastplate
(\'I bind unto myself this day\')
Based on parts of Psalm 68
********
Let God arise, enemies be scattered
Let them that hate Him before Him flee
Flee, be gone, as smoke driven away
We process in victory this day
At presence of God wicked melt
They His righteous judgement have felt
But let the righteous all be glad
He comforts them, they stay not sad
Let the righteous now all rejoice
For they have made the Lord their choice
Exceeding glad they all may be
Share with their Lord eternity
Sing unto God and praise His name
Extol Him who e\'er stays the same
His name JEHOVAH, high over all
Welcoming to who on Him call
O God when you in power went forth
Before your people, they you had sought
When you through wilderness did march
The heavens dropped, earth shook, desert parch[ed]
E\'en mighty Sinai, awesome mount
Saw you, your glories did recount
At presence of the Lord most high
Yet to your people you are nigh
Chariots of God twenty thousand are
E\'en thousands of angels, many by far
Outnumbering evil, your praise we sing
Almighty One, Lord o\'er everything
You have ascended now on high
Hear prayers of those who to you cry
You bless us with daily benefits
Enduing us as grace befits
Singers go forth in procession long
Let all contribute in joyful song
And dance and clap, all instruments
Employ, focus on Him, each sense
There twelve tribes go, they celebrate
Your goodness, not mere luck or fate
For God has commanded your strength
He will you favour at great length
To Him who rides the heavens of heavens
Sing unto Him in \'perfect sevens\'*
His voice He does sound out, \'tis heard
And is a mighty voice, His word
Ascribe you strength to God most high
Who ever lives, will never die
His excellency o\'er Israel
His strength is in the clouds, we tell
O God, how terrible, awesome you are
We would you worship from afar
Yet you have bid us through your Son
Come to you, He the atoning One
Before you we in Him do stand
Gathered from each and every land
\'Tis you O God, strength, power give
To your people that they may live
* \'perfect sevens\' - Seven is a symbolic number for perfection.
If non-rhyming this could be replaced by \'perfectly\'.
