No You Can’t Have A Dog
Your mother doesn\'t like you,
Your father wants you to move on,
And I know we’ll defiantly buy a dog,
When your gone,
But for now you\'ll have to dream of one,
That you can play and frolic with,
Together in the sun,
You’ll teach him how to catch a ball,
You\'ll teach him to run,
Imagine little scruffy sleeping with you at night,
But you can’t have a dog,
No this poem isn\'t right.
When you sleep alone and wish for a dog to hold,
Remember you can have one when you grow old,
And move out of my house,
Or maybe get a cat and he can chase a mouse,
But either way you can\'t have one till you move out,
And sometimes that’s what life’s about,
No its not always fair,
And like my dad often said to me:
“I don’t care”
In consolation we bought you some fish,
And maybe one day they\'ll become a real dog,
If you wish,
Real hard and pray at night,
Like I said before
“This poem isn’t right”,
So go snuggle with the fish for now,
And maybe one day you’ll get a dog somehow,
He and you can play in the sand,
You’ll hold his leash,
He’ll lick your hand,
And you can dream of all this,
While you clean the bowl for the fish!
