in my defence you left me unsupervised
with the bar of chocolate you bought for us to share
whilst you ran to the bottom of the hill to see the ducks
and throw them the uneaten crusts of my sandwiches
and you know that it\'s my favourite kind
the milky kind with the nuts
glued in like rocks in cement
even though i know that you
prefer the plain stuff without a crunch
so i only took one square
even though i knew it would go straight to my thighs
it was my brothers who got blessed with my mums stick thin legs
but you had a way of making me feel like i could do anything
even if my thighs were thicker
than most of the women you see on tv
so when you peel back the packaging
and see that one of the squares has been taken
and i smile and pretend that i don\'t know what happened
so you kiss my lips right there on the grass
and tell me that i taste like stolen chocolate
