(\'The day of Resurrection\')
Based on Luke 24 v.36 - 53
*********
Jesus appears, Jerusalem
Reveals Himself to them
Disciples there, He risen
His peace to them is given
But they thought a ghost they saw
Yet it was true and sure
That it was Christ the risen Lord
The one eternal Word
And gracious invitation now
For them to touch, see how
He was no ghost, but flesh had
And bones, He made them glad
Then while they wondered, amazed
Jesus a question raised
Have you here food I may eat?
They did His presence greet
Then He did eat some boiled fish
A resurrection dish
And honeycomb, sweet to taste
Lovingly interlaced
For meal in fellowship they shared
Nothing could be compared
To it, for Christ from the dead
Had risen, their living Head
Was all done Scriptures to fulfil
Whether seemed good or ill
That Christ should suffer, rise again
On the third day there then
And that repentance, remission
Of sins be preached, be done
Preached in His name through all nations
By His redeeméd ones
This at Jerusalem would start
For Christ He would impart
His Holy Spirit, them empower
To meet needs of each hour
And so they witnesses, and we
By faith Him do we see
So going forth to evangel
We good news all folk tell
