For all who see and understand, allow
That they should take a sleepless vow,
A measure of some solace, now,
We pray that they will never keep;
To leave complacent atrophy and weep;
For those who heart-glad steep in mediocrity
In little deaths, they leave for some tranquility
And all of them that do not see, they somehow understand
Perhaps too late, that they have missed a lifetime in their sleep
And they in waking mourn amongst the howling of the damned
