The Storm

And as the darkness enclosed my room

I felt a sudden sense of doom.

The sky was as black as night

Covered in a sheet of cloud.

As lightening flashed across the sky

I thought the storm gone

But a rumble of thunder

Showed me I was wrong.

It shook the house

And I thought it would fall in

The noise was tremendous

A dreadful din.

A final light flashed across the sky

Then the storm began to die.

The thunder became quieter

And the sky became lighter

The house stood its ground

Until the last drop of rain came tumbling down.
