As we look up at the infinite sky, our vision adrift in the daylight,
under a nesting bower of viridescent nonchalance -
our sunken eyes blink at eternity.
Our grassy haze, of which we were so enchanted,
freezes, poised upon the condensation trail
of a thought of unrivaled paradox.
Embowered by trees, shelter from oblivion.
Empowered by affection, so strong an emotion.
Our unity apparent to all of creation.
Yet doubt in our minds shall not cease,
till bitter ends may come full circle
and secured our enrapture within its earthy fingers.
Regardless we lie as if we stand; not impassioned
but free with our purpose, neither dissuaded nor daunted.
And clasp ourselves and our pleasure to the measure of the abyss.
