Deluged Eyes

What shall we endeavor today?

how should we entertain?

Where could we go off to foray,

and stave off any blame?

We could dance ourselves unto the barn, to sing the helot\'s hymns

or fancy lively avenues, and observe the city\'s sins

we could dine upon the liquid joys, whether they\'re august or gin

we\'d liken the whole universe to a silence and a din

We could delight in chess and cherries; on the porch in afternoon

and the pieces and the fruits, we\'d lavishly consume;

and the sun so swollen, and dripping in the sky,

melts every drop of sunshine onto mine eyes

We could run unto the jetty, all so jubilant and loud!

light the fires flaking orange, with the crackling of sound

climb up on the trees, in the dark, without ground

the wind and solitude, the recluse, so profound!

So many opportunities, like blessings dovetailed perfect;

on these days when we\'re non-circumspect

we could do most of anything, so long as we would try-

I can see the light deluge your eyes.

And I know I\'ll never sing Greensleeves, because you love me.

And I love you, who\'d voyage greenwoods for a lark with me,

share sweet moments like cherries with me,

endeavor all of today with me,

solely to be with me.
