Somewhat Burn (No Worries)

Waking up smelling of ham hock,

Sweltering heat acts as alarm clock,

For the ginger here needs to be brave,

To socially crisp outside of his cave,

So, no worries, but smile I’ll learn,

Even if it means to somewhat burn,

Stares I get from the veteran bronzed,

“Shouldn’t you be inside with your friend fair blonde”

Their piercing eyes seem to suggest,

But a friendly smirk I see, so I digress,

So, no worries, but smile I learn,

Even if I will get a little burnt,

The ginger transformation starts to deploy,

What was human turns into “lobster boy”,

Thus, like Hellboy I should go underground,

No, hell no, I shall tan my chalkies proud,

So, no worries, but smile I continue to learn,

Even if my stubbornness leaves me burnt,

A tingling sensation starts to creep up,

On me like a premeditated setup,

So, inside I go to protect my pale,

To anaesthetise myself with ale,

Thus, on this day, I will continue to smile,

With old friends and new that make a sweet pile,

Although with aftersun blanket it’s time to return

But hey, no worries, I have enjoyed this somewhat burn.
