The Invisible

The Masters

Childhood is what brings us into who we are

Our adult lives is just so far

The past haunts us more than anyone knows

Sometimes our heart is froze

Shielding us from pain we tell ourselves we can’t handle

Thinking if we turn it off and go get in some scandal

That’s the way to keep us from that hurt we feel

The ability to know that it’s real

Retracting ourselves from those potential situations of harm

Throwing around this fake charm

Don’t get close enough and it can’t get bad

Falling for one is just taunting us to be sad

Withdrawn from the world we live in our mind

We learn how to hide the horrible things and be kind

No one thinks that the biggest actor of them all

Is the foster kids or so they’re called.
