Oh beautiful oasis,
don’t tempt me when I’m gone
before I fall into the abyss
of your cracked earth
Bring me your ecstasy
upon the plains of paradise,
and let me recluse myself
within a poem’s identity
to keep hearth with the world’s madness
upon an empty tomb
Ah fallen angel,
don’t come to my door
for I’ve rescinded a saint’s prayer
upon my doorpost,
guarding that which He has promised
to withhold the evil
from the catacombs
of your own design,
for I’ve long to live out my years
upon the pastures of Bethlehem
to give me peace
beyond your grasp
A new dawn I’ve long to see
Beauty surpassing my own fear
Of a dying world ready to succumb
Oh dearest friend,
follow the narrow road
that leads to life
for the trials of dire days
are upon us
Don\'t give summons
to the void alternative
upon the threshold
of your sudden reluctance
to give penance
to the pedestal of your wish
Give yourself up,
for not all roads lead
into the salvation
of your own design
to be saved, for all ransom
has been paid on the cross
to bequeath onto you
his saving grace
