Attachments some would say
Partly I agree
But mainly you have all been \'mum\'s\' to me
All you teachers
Being my mother was never your job
But you could see the pain I was in
A shy child unloved
With a mother hooked on drugs
All alone in this great big world
A small child with a damaged touch
Until you all reached out your hands
You taught me what was love
Shown me the world
Dealt with my problems
Always understood, never left me blue
Soothed me like a blanket torn right through
Helped me through school
With love extending beyond
Forever in my heart, sewn into my soul
Your faces and smiles enrich my blood
Make me feel brand new
Although you are all now not in view
Only in my life for a short amount of time
We had to move on, had to say goodbye
Tears would leave my eyes, I would beg you to stay
Still soon I would get another teacher to take your place
Being passed along, it felt so strange
A brand new teacher
A new \'mother\' would be named
New qualities they would bring
Ones I\'ve learned and carry within
I think about you all
Wonder where you are
Pray for you every night
Are you close by
Or moved afar
Happy or sad
Still alive in this world
Unanswered they will remain
I will remember you like it was the first day
