Praise Privileges

Fits tune: Hereford

(\'O thou who camest from above\')

Psalm 149

******

1. Praise the LORD, sing Him a new song

The joyful praises now prolong

Praise Him amidst the peoples here

You congregations, worship share

2. Let Israel in Him rejoice

People of Zion, he you choice

He is their King for ages all

And hears those who upon Him call

3. Let them praise His name in the dance

Trusting in Him with np mere chance

Sing praises with timbrel and harp

In pleasant tunes, not forced or sharp

4. For the LORD does pleasure true take

In His people, and He will make

The meek beauteous, the lowly soul

With His salvation make them whole

5. Let [the] saints be joyful in glory

Sing aloud upon their beds free

Let the high praises of God ting

From their pure mouths as they do sing

6. Let a two-edged sword, let it be

In their hand, the word of God, see

For them to vengeance execute

Punish those who them persecute

7. And so too bind their kings with chains

To suppress wrongful, evil reigns

And nobles too with fetters bind

They who rule wicked, cruel, unkind

8. Thus saints they do these deeds perform

They judge those who afflict and scorn

This honour granted to His saints

Righteous judgements, with no sin\'s taints
