Life is like bubblegum
Briefly satisfying, but soon loses taste
When it wears off, you\'re left feeling numb
Stripped of emotions that can\'t be replaced
You consume another piece
To feel what you\'ve once felt
Hoping it will bring you peace
From the pain which you\'ve dealt
Down to your last stick
Realizing you\'ve eaten the whole pack
Feeling yourself getting sick
Because they’re not a snack
Heart beating slower
You drop to the floor, no one around to hear
All the pain you\'ve felt, it\'s over
There\'s nothing left to fear
Another innocent soul,
Who took the whole bottle
Who lost all control
It\'s truly awful
Sometimes temporary relief
Isn\'t worth the grief
That follows addiction
