Grainy shards
of shattered
memories,
cut a diamond
into your eye
of wonder,
a rainbow hawk
glides drunkly.
I slither under my
guilt blanket of
told you so,
forgotten in the mist
of thunder bolts spewing
from your plumes
of fuchsia hued apathy.
I wanted to be
your beautiful riddle
your muse of perplexity,
measured as saints
measure compassion,
still never knowing
what I truly lacked.
Time warped
between forgotten tomorrows
and grateful yesterdays.
Riddled with
copper exhaustion
serenaded by regret,
paradoxical anesthetic,
caustic from
unattainable bliss.
Jade castles erected,
grim reality accepted.
I chose to live in your arms,
just to die in your thoughts.
