ALBACORES ON WINDERMERE ~ ENGLISH LAKE DISTRICT ~ FREEDOM
Is it envy or nostalgia ~ That brings
Me peering at the craft bobbing on\'t water ?
Nosing at each boat moored along the quay\'
I have sailed ~ mainly Albacores ~ they were
Considered safe for Children ~ mast tethered
Life jacketed ~ Mini Michelin Men !
Inland Lakes ~ Bala and Windermere
Were our playground ~ I dreamed to own a Yacht !
But Scousers had to be satisfied with ......
Ferry \'cross the Mersey ~ With the one I love !
Now I can afford to go on cruises
Europe ~ Baltic ~ Alaska ~ West Indies !
But I have never owned ~ My own YACHT
And I have always lived close to WATER !
