Build me a castle. One made of sand.
Build it strong as to never collapse.
Three stories high with three towers
And a mote with a drawbridge attached.
Scrawl on the walls a message, my dear,
So all that will see it can read:
“This castle of sand Forever will stand
As a symbol of my love for thee.”
Protect it, my dear, from the rain and the waves.
Let no one cast stones, only eyes.
And never leave it unattended too long,
For the sun will soon spell its demise.
Use water to hold it together.
Let your tears be like masonic grout.
Stiffen the sand with your sadness, my love,
So the castle will never dry out.
Now answer me this simple question,
Be fervent, honest, and sincere:
How long would that sandcastle stand, my dear love?
Days, weeks, months, or for years?
