Taylor Rhea

aftermath

I sit up, pushing the covers down my body until they rest at my knees. My body is raging with a heat that is past uncomfortable, I feel trapped in the wave. But the room is cold- I can feel the A/C kick on. I wipe the perspiration off my face and chest with my shirt, the thin material feels heavy on my fatigued body. I get out of bed walking out of my bedroom and turn the corner to the bathroom. The coolness of the tile on my feet rises to my legs and causes goosebumps. I turn the faucet on, turning the knob all the way to the cold side. I let my arms rest on the counter and bow my head. After a minute, I look up in the mirror and gawk at the appearance before me. My eyes have dark rings around them, my face pale but flushed at the same time. I look horrendous, and somehow I feel worse.

This is the aftermath you have caused .
