Memorial (The Night Of Fire).

Fire, sweet fire, a surging joy at midnight

Sears the soul, racks to ashes all my fears;

In soul-surrendered peace, I weep. Such tears,

As time and chance I spurn, submit to light

And kneel; yet still I see, and feel the might

Of every raging flame as twilight nears.

I clasp my hands, the breath of praise He hears

As embers fade, reclaimed by dying night.

Unholy dawn: a nightmare\'s seething spawn

Unleashes time, casts down each witch black hour

To fire-forsaken sands; the sun I scorn

And all its tainted rays, for midnight\'s power

Commands the soul to rise in fire reborn

And rest in rose light\'s heavenly flower.
