The Silent March Of 1917, July 28th

The Silent Parade Of 1917 Was Anything But Silent

They Were Marching Because The Whites Were Getting Really Violent

Physically They Were Silent

But Mentally They Were Screaming
\"Please, Please Stop The Beating!\"

Truth Was They Didn\'t Have To Speak A Word

You Could See How They Felt From Their Solemn Faces

10,000 African Americans Gathered Around
You Would\'ve Thought You Heard A Few Sounds
All That Was Heard Was The Shuffling Of Their Shoes On The Ground

People In Those Times Often Thought That Even Though Slavery Was Over, African Americans Were Still Slaves

And Could Be Taken Advantage Of

This Is Not The Case.
