The sea she came

The sea she came and blew away
the thoughts we had of yesterday
of strife and toil, of nations wrought
of life lost without a thought

The sea she came and brought us life
abundant fish for man and wife
for play and spoil she did provide
across the great blue divide

The sea she came and left us rent
tsunami and flood were our lament
coast upon coast wrecked and askew
from the sea\'s great wind that blew

The sea she came and brought us pleasure
her vista of azure treasure
did provide us endless days of leisure
which we will hold dear forever

The sea she came tossing ships and sails
thirty foot waves as hard as nails
wrecking boats and lives as she can
nought left but the torment of man

The sea she came and then she went
her time on earth was easily spent
by careless man with no remorse
the sea she went, of course
