Shooting Star

I once saw a shooting star, It was oh so very far
So beautiful like a marigold, What a sight to behold

Now the star is no more, Oh how my heart was tore
It came and went so very fast, Its beauty not meant to last

A bright white tail left in its wake, One that could not shake
I wonder where it might be, For alas it I cannot see

Flying throughout the universe, While I live in this curse
I go through my life, Living in such strife

Never will I see it again, While I still walk with mortal man

Once I leave this place, I shall plead my case

To the one who is up on high, As to why I should fly
To see that star once more, Upon that beautiful starry shore
