Hiding In The Rain

My camouflage

Translucent and liquefied

Making my tears invisible

So no one knows I’ve cried

Let the skies open up

Let the rain drops fall

Please excuse me

If I don’t answer your call

Give me time

To compose myself

Recharge my batteries and faith

While up here on this shelf

To some of us this happens

Every once in a while

The bravest may try

And some don’t even care to smile

I’m sorry for this poor excuse

As I try to explain

I just need some down time

Hiding in the rain
