A Dogs Life

Do all the cooking, ironing too.

Put on the washing, spot clean the loo.

Polish the tables, hoover the floors.

Cook all the meals, still they want more!

Do all the gardening, feed all the kids.

Close all the cupboards, shut all the lids.

Wipe all the dishes, pick up the dirt.

Scrub and scrub, till my fingers nails hurt.

Open the door, nice and polite.

Make sure the beds are just right for the night.

Put on the kettle, coffee or tea?

Still they squeeze more and more out of me.

Play with the children, ear plugs at hand,

throw out the window all I had planned.

Stand on my head, look like a berk.

That’s what I do while the wife is at work.
