The Drunk Pirate

Human Nature

Drops of Jupiter, let not my eyes fall from grace.

the rain of the gods is a bitter poison created by the tears of men.

their lying lips hold more room for deceit.

They break my trust, and trick my eye,

hold up their soiled hands to sin,

then close their eyes to dream again.

Drops of Jupiter let not my eyes fall from grace.

The wars of men have swallowed the earth,

and left a tomb of bones in its place.

They water the hatred of bitter souls,

they avert their eyes from the wounded.

they turn to bury their fellow man,

then close their eyes to dream again.

Drops of Jupiter let not my eyes fall from grace.

I am no one, with no name, a man without a face.

I walk the earth and watch the world slowly go up in flames.

I hide behind a voice, and a pen.

And if i close my eyes I\'ll dream again.
