I can remember years ago,
When I was very young;
I knew as I wrote out a rhyme,
The journey had begun.
I used a pen to write them down,
A notebook saved each one.
Spell check was in the book upon my desk,
I used when I was done.
Heartbreak was the topic used the most,
Whenever I had my say.
Soon forgotten and replaced,
Not long to fade away.
The notebook was my hard drive,
As I would save each page.
And the topics seemed to change a lot,
When I began to age.
A keyboard replaced my trusty pen,
Iced tea replaced Coke and Jack.
Reflection replaced my heartbreak rhymes,
As I kept looking back.
