She Wants To Dance

A quiet girl sits in a corner alone

The world around her erupted with noise

She wants to be out there not here on her own

She wants to dance with the other girls and boys

Her timid nature keeps her in the chair

As her eyes watch in longing and awe

If only she\'d get up and go out there

Let the music take her over like all those she now saw

The rhythm started to move it\'s way in

Would it be strong enough to break through

To get her up and make her spin

Or will her night continue like they usually do

Not moving from the same spot

A polite smile on her face and the occasional nod

With succumbing only just a thought

Keeping up her indifferent facade

Deeper it moves through to her soul

A sweet melody vibrates down to her bones

And her resistance has finally taken its toll

She starts to rise listening to all the different tones

Tonight she\'ll dance with a smile

Even if it\'s with no one at all

The euphoria of it is worth the while

Tonight the music takes over and she\'ll no longer be a flower on the wall
