Accidental Poet

Maybe, Maybe Someday

Maybe, Maybe Someday

There’s a passion in me

Burning every night and day

A dream in my heart for you Sharon

That your love will come my way

For 43 years you’ve owned my heart

I can’t help the way I feel

When it comes to true love

This is the real deal

Wish I could have seen on your face

The look of surprise

In your school locker a letter I left

Signed by me, bringing wonder to your eyes

Was it really from me?

And not someone’s idea of a joke

Do you dare tell anyone?

Whose trust do you invoke?

Should you confront me?

Tell me to stay away

Or perhaps at me just smile

And say, “Maybe, maybe someday”
