Was It Love At First Sight?
Most people have a first love
Or one above all the rest
The one you look back on
Without question, the very best
Every now and then
That rear view mirror beckons
Mesmerized seemingly for hours
While in real time only seconds
Falling in love
Aimlessly head over heels
Rolling along a fast track
In the tunnel of love on greased wheels
For some it started while teenagers
Others as adults just by chance
Some say it won’t last
And for a select few a lifelong dance
No one else in all your life
Touched your heart so deep
And for no one else
Memories so cherished you’ll keep
That special place in your heart
A place reserved for only one
For their heart you crave
Keeps you warm like an internal sun
You’ll hold onto that love
For the rest of your days
As it embodies a benchmark
A heart of only one has made
You’ll remember those early days
An attraction so right
Did you feel weak in the knees?
Was it love at first sight?
