Tune: Monks Gate
(\'He who would valiant be\')
Mark 4 v.36-41
*********
Christ who quietened restless waves
Still today He saves
Lord of all, earth, sea, sky
For refuge we fly
From storms of enemy
Physically, spiritually
Look Lord, have mercy here
Where troubled hearts fear
Crossing sea of Galilee
A storm rose up see
Jesus in boat, disciples
Each unto Him calls
Wakes Him from sleep, He rose
He all creation knows
Rebuked winds, said to sea
Peace, let there calm be
Wind did cease, storm did abate
Waves lulled, were not late
To obey His sure command
Ordered by His hand
And word of power true
Spoken, be it to you?
That when He to them there
Recognised their fear
For to them, He said the word
They each it knew, heard
Why so fearful, why you be
In consternancy?
How is it you have not
Faith, what is it, your lot?
Your state, small trust in me
Though you to me flee
Help us Lord, to see as they
What be your will, way
They did fear with godly fear
Knowing you were near
With them in person, for
Your works caused over-awe
What manner [of] man you be
Commanding wind, sea?
