My eyelids just keep getting heavy.
My consciousness keeps fading away.
Sleep keeps invading like a stranger,
Looking for a place it can stay.
The sun has gone into hiding.
Darkness snuck in like a thief.
I keep battling the fall into the slumber,
That keeps promising to give me relief.
The days are most all filled with struggles,
The night time stands out like a prize.
Dreamland keeps calling me over,
Just waiting till I close my eyes.
The visions that visit in my slumber,
Can often bring anxiety and fear.
I will often look for solutions,
But the lessons learned are not clear.
When I am weary I\'ll always seek refuge,
Hoping to find it in my bed.
My pillow is attempting seduction,
Offering a place for my head.
