O wind and flame of Pentecost
Come to our hearts, seek, save the lost
Your Spirit here, He manifest
\'Til last you kept new wine, the best
As cloven tongues of fire did rest
Upon them there at your behest
So filled were they with your Spirit
Filled with the life of God, each whit
So gift of tongues was there displayed
Among the peoples there arrayed
\'Twas from your hand, your Spirit sure
They could worship in languages more
The wonderful words of God they spoke
Simply, with no complex invoke
Not only for that first church, that fare
All believers by grace may share
The message there, repent and be
Baptised in name of Jesus Christ, see
Remission of sins to you sure
Receive gift of the Spirit pure
They continued daily, one accord
In temple, houses, with the Lord
Broke bread and prayed, bold, unafraid
Teaching and fellowship, strong, staid
They praised God, gained favour with all
The Lord added daily, who His call
Did hear, respond, and His salvation
Open to all of every nation
